Formations, Falloffs, Constructors, Delay: top to bottom.
The stack #
Ordimus components are Geometry Nodes modifiers. Read the modifier stack top to bottom:
| Layer | What goes here | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Formation | Text Generator, Cloner, Ingestor | Makes pieces |
| Falloffs | Falloff, Freeze | Write named 0-1 values onto the pieces |
| Constructors | Simple, Random, Step, Time, … | Move, rotate, scale and color the pieces |
| Delay | Delay | Lags everything above it. Always last |
Three rules #
- A Formation turns your object into pieces. Pieces are instances. Everything below it works on pieces, not vertices. Constructors need them.
- Constructors read the rest position. Every piece remembers where it started, so constructors add instead of compounding. Three Simple constructors that each lift 1 m give 3 m.
- A Falloff only affects constructors below it. A Falloff writes a named value. A constructor reads it only when its Falloff Mode is set to Falloff (or Both) and its Falloff picker shows that name.
Remember
Order is the whole mechanism: Formation, then Falloffs, then Constructors, then Delay.
Where to go next #
- Add Component: add each layer.
- Falloffs and Names: how a constructor finds a Falloff.
- Constructors: every constructor at a glance.
